Hooray, I Can Finally Travel!

👉 After almost a year and a half of working from home, something unusual happens: I have a physical appointment with a client, and a two-day seminar abroad. 👉 These changes in my usual work rhythm, 8AM-7PM, are welcome! 👉 And yet, as one executive recently confided: 'I'm not excited at the prospect of packing every Sunday night to go back to office abroad'. 👉 In its June 1 article(*), Bloomberg reports that many employees actually prefer to quit their job rather than be forced to return to the office even on a part-time basis. 👉 Of course, front-office functions have no choice. But in several areas, choice is possible. 👉 I hear many companies solve the equation by offering 1 or 2 days/week at home. It's simple enough, but is it not overly simplistic? 👉 Beyond its organizational aspect, the reorganization of working patterns is linked to the culture and managerial modes of organizations. It is is linked to diversity and sustainability as well. 👉 The return to 'normal' will require an effort to question old patterns, and call for creativity. 👉 This is also where the war for talent is being fought!
